Saturn on August 26, 2014
Cassini captured this gorgeous raw image of Saturn a few days ago. Cassini was approximately 1,485,472 miles (2,390,635 kilometers) away from Saturn at the time the image was taken.
In other news, Cassini has been fully funded through mission’s end in 2017. This means that new data and photos will be sent to Earth until at least 2017.
